the whole “i used to be a teen who hated authority only to grow up to become the authority that hates teens” is a bad bad thing that practically every other generation has fallen into and we all need to make an extremely conscious effort not to repeat the fucking pattern
Dear teenage followers: I might make posts about my students turning my hair gray and being brats sometimes, but I should state that those posts are said with a hell of a lot of love. You know why? Because my kids are pains in the butt just like every other person of every other generation when they are in a mandatory situation and don’t want to be, but at the end of the day, remember that I can recognize that.
I call my students “my kids” because I don’t need to have any offspring of my own…I get 180 new ones each year and y’all crack me the fuck up when I’m outside of the professional environment.
