Bucky and Steve lying side by side in Prospect Park, staring up at the sky and star gazing.

Bucky seeing a shooting star and telling Steve to make a wish.

Steve going quiet for a few seconds and then murmuring, “Okay. Did it.”

Bucky asking Steve what he wished for and Steve turning over to look at him. He seems nervous, but has that bullheaded determination in his eyes that Bucky’s always been able to remember, even when he forgot everything else.

“Courage,” Steve finally says.

Bucky asks, “For what?”

Steve takes a quick breath and answers, “For this,” and then leans in and kisses him.

Bucky smiling when Steve finally pulls away and telling him, “I guess that whole shooting star thing works. Both our wishes came true.”

I want to see Steve viciously defensive of Bucky in Civil War. I want to see him shove Tony away from Bucky with fire in his eyes. I want to see him lose himself when Rumlow taunts him about Bucky remembering him. I want to see Steve willing to burn the world to the ground to keep everyone who wants to harm Bucky away. Steve saw him fall to his death but Bucky’s here and he’s alive. Despite all the terrible shit he endured, he’s here and god forbid anyone who threatens to take him away from Steve again.

And this, dear fans, just may be Steve’s dark side.

This has always been Steve’s dark side.

Exactly. Bucky has always brought out Steve’s dark side. I saw another post talking about how Bucky was the most dangerous man on the planet, not from being the Winter Soldier, but because what he is capable of inspiring Steve to do. Which is why I so badly want to see that side of Steve in Civil War because everyone who has seen how far he is willing to go when Bucky is involved (the Commando’s, Peggy etc.) are gone. None of the Avenger’s has really seen that reckless abandon.

And we have that nice little set up in AoU between Steve and Tony where Tony mentions not trusting someone who doesn’t have a dark side and Steve replying that Tony just hasn’t seen it yet. I want him to see it now.
