To the anon that just had the message for me to work on my novel: thank you. I can’t begin to express that fact that it wasn’t the money that made me cry like this, it was the fact that you appreciate my writing enough to want to see it for my original story.
I was willing to let the “we must secure” headline go as an accident. Maybe. It’s horribly tone deaf, and possible that it wasn’t checked, and I could conceivably believe that it was an accidental co-incidence that happened while writing a statement that was already pretty racist and idiotic… Maybe. Like, a 1 in 5 chance that it wasn’t deliberate…
But that “fewer than 13 out of every 88″ ? Fuck no that wasn’t an accident. That’s not possible. Whoever wrote that statement is a full on Nazi planting a dogwhistle to his buddies.
No one uses 88 as a basis. “fewer than 13″ ? You could just about 1 in 8. Or give a percentage. Or give a number out of a hundred ffs… But no, you use 13/88. Why? Because 14/88 is too obvious. but 13/88 is close enough, so that when you punch it in to your browser to see what % that is, you get https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Words as the top hit.

Allow me to elaborate on how bad things are here. 7 places are burning at the same time while in Μάτι and Κίνετα the fire not only burned trees but because off the strong winds(80 kilometes per hour) it burned houses, it burned people. Firefighters and volunteers do whatever they can with the little gear they have as always because why on earth would the goverment give money to firefighting vechiles, canadairs and literally anything else that could be useful in this country when we know that every summer someone wants to burn forests so they can build whatever they want. Anyways, people started running away once some firefighters managed to warn them to evacute ( something that others should have done because these people have to keep working so they can prevent the fore from doing anymore damage ). People started running to get to the beach which was their only hope, unfortunately some people with their families were trapped once the fire circurled the area around them leaving them with the only thing to do, wait for their end. Charred bodies were found locked in embrace the next day. Now the people who reached the beach had to wait there so they could be transferred from there to the port of Ραφήνα. Here’s a photo :

Well, the time has come that I need some help. As some of you know, I’m currently between jobs, with a job fair taking place tomorrow. Even if I’m hired tomorrow, though, my first paycheck will not be until September. I have to get a new driver’s license, register my car, and manage to feed myself until then with no job and no paycheck.

So I moved out of my mom’s place on Saturday. The home I’d been living in, minus some time away at college, for 28 years. I was lucky enough to be able to take my cat with me, but as I get closer and closer to getting all my shit unpacked and put away, the realization that I’m well outside my comfort zone has sunk in.
And the stupid cat scratching thing did it. My baby sniffed it and was so thrilled to see it again that it just hit me that she’s the only living thing that I took with me when I moved. This is my first foray into the realm of independence, and you know the only thing that popped into my mind when the tears stopped?
