I saw @acexius​ ‘s list of yoi facts, and I felt the need to do the same with JJ. The so misunderstood/mischaracterisized boy from Canada.

They are ALL CANON. Some are from the yoi fanbooks, artbooks,…

• JJ’s 19 (Birthday: July 15th)
• JJ’s  5′8″ (178cm)
• Coaches: JJ’s parents. Coaching by Nathalie and training by Alan (they are olimpic gold medalists).
• Placed:   GOLD in Canada, GOLD in Russia, BRONZE in Barcelona (300.62).
• BRONZE in the previous GPF.  
• JJ does a lot of charity work during the off season.

• He and Isabella were classmates in highschool.
• He and Isabella are devout christians.
• They reserve themselves for marriage, so their relationship is platonic.
• He entered University of Toronto as TOP STUDENT.
• He repeats his name many times in a conversation, like “JJ is~”. He nods and listens to others, but changes subject as soon as possible to talk about something he wants or about him. 
• He asked Otabek to go dinner with them because he felt sorry to see him go alone and asked out of kindness.  
• He doesn’t mind if others treat him unfriendly, or tell him it’s none of his business, if he thinks he’s doing the right thing.
• He might be a braggart but he always match words with deeds.
• He’s a late bloomer and his junior years weren’t as good as now. 
• He went coach from coach, all for the sake of his ideal JJ style.
• Long thick arms and legs, also thick and broad chest. Well mustled. Sharply sculpted feature, high nose, handsome when he doesn’t speak. He looks more than his age so it’s difficult to make him look like a teenager.
• He’s also famous outside figure skating. He’s got a different type of fans from Victor, he’s popular among young boys and girls. (Inteview to Chacott on fanbook)
• Theme of King JJ was composed as a song that JJ asked to a worldwide famous band he met at somewhere like Hollywood (and become friends) to write for him.   
• His FS costume’s original design had a complex design on his legs but they though it was too much work for the animators. They put a more simple motiv like a leaf, as a message that he’s still evolving and growing

• The fans loves and supports JJ because he always tries to be The King in everything he does, and JJ returns the favor being JJ under any circumstances.  
• As a devout christian, he prays to god before skating (crossing oneself), and as a figure skate lover he thanks to the ice after skating (kissing the ice). 
• Treating woman kindly is also JJ style. Not only his fianceé, but also pretty ladies on ice!  (photo of Yuri with cat years on this text)(really)
• Jump, steps, spins, skating… an overall balanced skater. His high marks are due to the good base values of the elements. Specially his jumps: hight, length and landing are marvelous and high quality. He can jump 4 types of quads: Lutz, Loop, Salchow and Toeloop. The fact of being under different coaches in junior days turn him a extraordinary jumper. 
• He met the world famous band in a grammy afterparty.
• He singed along with his fans in chap 11.

What he is not in canon:

• A villain
• A rapist
• An asshole
• Homophobic monster
• …and more.

Not liking JJ is ok.
But making him extremely OOC is just NOT FAIR.
Making characters do things that he/she might, or he/she might not do is what makes fanart and fanfic fun. I totally agree. But sometimes I find overwhelming that some OOC characterization are treated as in fact, true. 

So here was a little (little???) reminder of some facts about him from a JJ girl 😀
