Uhh, nope. That’s when I call security. I don’t EVER touch my students. Like I said in the post, IF the situation calls for the phone to be confiscated, that’s not my job. Security can handle that. To be honest, though, I’ve never had a situation where a student hasn’t simply put away their phone and done the work. I just ask for it to be put away. I’m not aggressive when it comes to phones, I just want the students doing the work they’re supposed to. In a lab environment, they shouldn’t have the phones out in case of contamination with chemicals anyway. *shrug*
Also, like, putting the phone in the bra is technically listening to what I requested. The cell phone got put away. Unconventional, but still technically what I asked. I ain’t gonna judge.
Can anyone tell me how my response even escalated to someone asking me about if I wanted to risk such extreme charges? JFC. Does anyone actually think I would do something like that over a phone of all things? So not worth it. I got too many student loans to pay off for that crap dude.
