18 is the age of consent, so I don’t see why not? 

If he’s 17, my opinion changes to them waiting a few months before getting in a relationship/having sex

I dunno why some people are trying to make adult relationships with age gaps out to be ‘unhealthy’ all of a sudden. By the time you’re 18 you are old enough to go to war and make your own medical and legal decisions. You are able to think about if you want to be with someone, whether they’re 18 or 80, and make your own decision whether it’s unhealthy or not.
