No, I hadn’t, but now I need so much more of that! The petting reminds me of Steve petting Bucky’s wings.
Ughh, I know, I could read 30k words of it. And yes, so many times YES! to the petting thing, I think that’s why I had to show you it lol do you have any visuals of what you think Buckys wings look like?
Yes I do! They are golden in color, more of the non-metallic type of gold (but that changes when he fights, which I’ll explain later on), and they have the pattern like a red-tailed hawk.
Bucky’s are more of the Rufous morph on the bottom and the Krider’s on the top. His pin feathers come through as a very light golden color that tends to blend in with his down, which is why Steve accidentally pet one. He thought he was petting the other feathers. Pin feathers still have blood flowing in them and are therefore still sensitive. Normal feathers have hollow shafts, with only the quill having any sort of feeling. When Steve pets his feathers, Bucky feels more the pressure of it from his quill moving a little rather than the actual feeling of Steve’s hands on them.
OMG they’re beautiful! and now it makes so much more sense why Bucky enjoys being pet by steve the way he does, it’s like the pressure of a hug (for lack of a better example) that makes him feel the affection. I can not wait for more of this story! You’ve done a wonderful job of spoiling me with your consistent updates haha 🙂
